How to research a stock without a tip service

This is a research checklist, not a recommendation to buy any security.

Name the business in one sentence

If you cannot say what the company sells and who pays for it, you are not ready to own it. The ticker symbol is not the business.

Read the filings, not the thread

Public companies publish reports. Look at revenue, profit or loss, debt, and the risks section written by the company itself. A social post is not a filing.

Write the reason you would sell

Before you buy, write what would make you wrong. A falling price alone is not a plan. Neither is a tip that arrived with no source.
